The sand color of the BLADE 40 embodies the essence of a gravel e-bike: freedom, endurance, and harmony with nature. It’s a shade born from earth and dust, designed for those who love off-road paths and adventures far from the asphalt. The black details, white lettering, and matte finish complete the color palette with understated elegance, highlighting the frame’s bold lines and adventurous character, without compromising style or readability.
Invisible Strength, Pure Form
The customization of the BLADE 40 motor was guided by three key design requirements: aesthetic appeal (an e-road bike whose clean lines echo a traditional road bike); functional performance (delivering high power output); and optimized weight distribution, ensuring a bike that, even when used without the battery, rivals the brand’s most prestigious Specialissima models. The solution came from miniaturizing the components and the innovative placement of the motor on the rear wheel: a brushless, gearless system that excels on climbs, offering a reduction ratio of up to 13.5:1. With direct hub drive, there is no power loss from the chain transmission, and all 250 real watts are delivered to the wheel, yielding a motor efficiency of 91%. The rearward placement also ensures optimal weight balance, while allowing for a sleek, streamlined frame design. The electrical connections between motor and battery are fully integrated into the frame with an IP65 rating, providing protection against water and moisture.
Power That Lasts 100km
The battery of the new e-road bike is entirely designed and manufactured in Italy, in Cuneo, using 3D technology. Fully integrated within the frame’s down tube, it is easily removable and can be recharged anywhere, without having to carry the bike. Despite its modest weight of 2,300 grams, thanks also to a 1.5 mm thick aluminum casing, it delivers power that places it at the top of the market: the new C.B.T. battery provides 378 Wh nominal and even 430 Wh actual capacity. This represents 52% more charge compared to traditional models, offering autonomy that makes carrying an extra unit unnecessary. Built with high-end components, including Samsung (or Panasonic) cells and a charger with a Phoenix connector, the BLADE 40 battery is a true technological gem, designed together with the e-road frame to integrate harmoniously and functionally. The battery is not secured with traditional fasteners but benefits from the frame’s unique “horseshoe” design, which holds it in place with an automatic locking system, eliminating the annoying vibrations so disliked by road cycling enthusiasts. In this regard, the tolerances of the composite tubes forming the BLADE 40's backbone have been maximized (to the tenth of a millimeter) so that the assembly is homogeneous, without movement or noise.
The Smart Heart of Your Ride
The electronic board, precisely positioned on the top tube and protected by a dedicated casing (SLS DURAFORM PA PLASTIC), is the nerve center of communication between the components of the BLADE 40. It communicates exclusively with the other system elements, battery, motor, and onboard computer, ensuring smooth, secure data exchange free from external interference. This protected and optimized internal dialogue guarantees maximum system efficiency and preserves the rider’s performance, turning every pedal stroke into an experience of total control, precision, and technological harmony.
Tested to Perfection
All the electronics of the BLADE 40 have been certified by the independent laboratory Teseo (Eiffage Group), which boasts high-profile collaborations in the aerospace, aeronautics, automotive, and military sectors.
